Sarah Hogg-Silva (she/her)
Teacher
Sarah began her yoga journey in 2009, discovering in the practice a steadying blend of breath, balance, and emotional grounding. Over the past fifteen years, she has practiced both locally and throughout Latin America and the Caribbean, gathering inspiration from different teachers and communities. In 2017, she completed her Level 1 Modo Yoga Teacher Training in Kelowna, BC as the recipient of the Gratitude Scholarship.
With more than twenty-four years of experience as a social worker, Sarah brings a deeply compassionate, therapeutic lens to her classes. She has spent her career supporting individuals and families navigating grief, divorce, separation, and the complexities of raising neurodivergent children, and she weaves this understanding into her teaching with care. Drawing on mindfulness and cognitive behavioural principles, she offers classes that are grounding, accessible, and supportive of emotional wellbeing.
Sarah is passionate about making yoga available to all bodies and backgrounds. She has taught youth basketball teams, women with domestic violence histories, and individuals experiencing homelessness within Toronto’s shelter system. As a sole parent of two neurodivergent children, she is also a dedicated advocate for inclusive, neuro-affirming spaces.
Outside of teaching, Sarah finds joy in Latin dancing, live music, and baking. A lifelong learner, she hopes to continue sharing yoga internationally and helping reduce stigma around mental health.
