welcome

Welcome to The Hummingbird Field

Established 2007

Until one walks through the door of The Hummingbird Field, it is understandably perceived as a yoga studio. Once inside, it quickly becomes apparent that it is more a heart-based, environmentally conscious, and community-driven gathering space, disguised as a yoga studio. While our primary service is to offer personal growth through conscious movement, we really do strive to be a place for all. We welcome all races, religions, countries of origin, genders, abilities, financial circumstances, and sexual orientations. We are committed to creating the safest space possible, with the intention of helping to unearth the true value of each person who enters this space.

We wish to acknowledge that the land we are standing on today is the traditional territory of many nations including the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee, and the Wendat peoples and is now home to many diverse First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples. We also acknowledge that Toronto is covered by Treaty 13 signed with the Mississaugas of the Credit, and the Williams Treaties signed with multiple Mississaugas and Chippewa bands.

At The Hummingbird Field, we passionately recognize that black, indigenous, people of colour, LGBTTQQIAAP+ and Trans lives matter, and that systemic white supremacy must be dismantled. We acknowledge that BIPOC in Canada and around the world have been subjected to hundreds of years of ingrained racism and oppression. While we continue to work to become an actively anti-racist space, we feel it is important to be clear about where we stand on this matter. Silence on these issues cannot be tolerated, nor can well-meaning statements without an action plan.

Good studio right by Jane station. It's quite bright (attended a class on a Saturday afternoon), so quite different in that way from most of the other studios I've attended (which are dimly lit). It does not offer hot yoga, but it is heated above average room temp. The room is quite big, but the classes are as well (around 20+) and if it's a full class it seems just a tad bit tight (gotta make sure you don't hit the person beside you :)). Very pleasant, clean and warm environment. You can try it out via ClassPass or call them directly.

The space is absolutely beautiful. It really transforms you into a rustic, cosy space. Almost like you are at home. The instructors are gifted and receptionist/ manger/ owner are considerate, kind humans! Thank you for the beautiful community </3 - omega

I went here briefly for a trial membership (though I didn't stay since it is far from my home). Instructors are fantastic, and the space is so lovely to hang out in, especially if you are doing back to back classes.

Parking

We are located one block west of Jane Station, and there is plenty of bicycle parking out front. If you’re driving, you might snag a spot directly out front on Bloor St., though most park in the large Green P. lot across the street (north of Bloor St. via Riverview Gardens). Free residential parking is almost always available on South Kingsway.
