Hi Friends,

Some of you know me as the guy behind the desk, managing reception and the energy exchange program. Maybe I’m the person behind the email when you have a question. I’ve worn many hats at The Hummingbird Field (formerly Moksha/Modo Yoga Bloor West) since I first walked up the stairs in February 2016. It was only natural to step into a more leading role as director. But just because something feels natural, that doesn’t mean it’s not scary.

As I always have, I’ll trust my intuition. I believe we can take THF to a new level of prosperity by bringing our already wonderful, heart-based practice into modalities we’ve never offered before. Ours will be a space that integrates mindful practice with strength-based and high-intensity classes, while still maintaining our values of accessibility, body autonomy, and respect for the ancient, deep-rooted principles of yoga and meditation.

My vision is to create a mindful refuge in a busy city, where you can find everything you need for a daily yoga and strength-building practice- a one-stop shop. We’ll keep our pricing accessible, especially for marginalized communities, and offer practices curated for all bodies, abilities, identities, and origins.

It will still be something magical, built and curated by you, the students and community members of THF. We’ve listened to your feedback; we value it, and we invite you to keep sharing your wishes, dreams, and hopes for our beloved space.

Thank you to Don for his many years of support and encouragement. Thank you to the wonderful team, and that’s all of you: teachers, administrators, and Energy Exchangers. You’re the glue that has held this place together from the very beginning, and the reason we’ve kept going through hard times.

Thank you to our committed students and community members. You’re the reason we’ve evolved, grown, and changed over the years. You offered us trust and grace when things were uncertain and we’re grateful for your continued support.

In closing, I look forward to what we can build together. It takes a village to build a community, and I’m excited to hold space with you.

Here we go!
