Sarah Hogg-Silva (she/her)

Teacher

Sarah Hogg started her yoga practice in 2009, when she was fortunate enough to walk into the former Moksha Yoga Bloor West studio. She quickly learned that yoga provided her with the breath and balance that was missing in her life in order to grow physically, spiritually and emotionally, and has now been practicing for over a decade. In the summer of 2017, Sarah traveled to Kelowna, BC as the recipient of the Gratitude Scholarship to complete her Level 1 Modo Yoga Teacher Training.

Sarah has been a social worker for over 19 years, and hopes to make yoga accessible for all, having taught yoga to basketball players, women with domestic violence histories and individuals experiencing homelessness. She takes pride in being a mother and sole parent to a child with special needs. She offers a caring and warm tone in the classes she leads, often being referred to endearingly as ‘motherly‘. As a student first and a life-long learner, Sarah plans to teach yoga internationally, promoting wellness and working to help remove the stigma around mental illness.
“I have been a seeker and I still am, but I stopped asking the books and the stars. I started listening to the teaching of my Soul.”
