Jaime Verk (she/her)
Teacher
Someone recently asked me why I teach yoga. It’s because at every uncomfortable moment, and through every traumatic experience, I have had my practice to hold me and support me. I teach yoga to share this powerful tool to look inward, to reflect and witness oneself at these many stages of life. It’s not about moving your body, it’s about the emotions and epiphanies that happen when you move in your body with intention.
My style of teaching reflects my personal practice, which is to self heal, to cultivate a self care routine that nourishes my personal growth and supports my physical and emotional well being. I teach yoga to hold space for others to navigate their own turbulent life experience with a little more kindness, support and acceptance. People have said my passion and excitement for teaching is magnetic, and my warm personality and deep empathy for others make my approach un-intimidating and accessible for all levels. I believe that every practice should empower the total body, mind and spirit.
I’ve been teaching movement since 2012, and practicing since my early teens. Currently I teach Hatha, Yin, Restorative and Kundalini yoga as well as Pilates Mat and Barre. I teach yoga, meditation and movement through a therapeutic approach to best serve students with physical injuries, or those who seek to manage their mental, emotional or physical health with mindfulness and holistic lifestyle choices.
In addition to teaching movement I’m also a chef artist and Wellness Coach. My intention is to inspire others to find optimal health and happiness through yoga, movement and mindfulness practice.
Jaime teaches Mindful Pilates, Vinyasa, Yin and Stretch & Surrender at MYBW.
