Elizabeth Witzke (she/her)

Teacher

After a life-long journey of working in the areas of social justice, criminal law, performance art and psychotherapy, Liz landed in her Pilates training as a way to understand more fully, the inner workings of the human body, somatic responses to trauma and stress, and the mind-body connection.

Her teaching style has been influenced through her training in Gestalt psychotherapy. Mindful movement was the natural extension of this training with a focus on support, functional movement, connection to the here and now, and the beauty found in the manifestation of our internal and external strength. She also has been inspired by her performance arts background to find creative ways to introduce the concepts of functional and mindful movement, as well as the element of play. Students will find comfort in her classes, which combine unique physical and emotional make-up on individual and relational levels.

Liz is a mom to four beautiful children who motivate, test, validate, and stretch her world views and life choices every day. She practices presence, compassion, openness and conscious communication, as a way to connect with her children and guide her parenting. Liz is very excited to be starting her journey into yoga therapy training in the fall.
